Nestled amongst  fields of farmland and orchards lies the New Braintree Grade School – just outside of the town center.

The New Braintree Grade School serves students in preschool from New Braintree and Oakham. The QRSD Post-Graduate program is also housed at the New Braintree Grade School.

Students from New Braintree and Oakham in grades K – 5 attend school at Oakham Center School. This reconfiguration maximizes the academic opportunity for these students with team teaching and more balanced class sizes, providing more social opportunities for the children and strengthened curriculum to meet the individual needs of the students.

This updated school building is complete with a media center, computer lab, an outdoor play area, and a uniquely-designed cafeteria that serves as a stage area – while the stage also opens to the gymnasium.

A youth-friendly community, the children of New Braintree participate in Quabbin-area youth recreation leagues, including soccer, basketball, softball and baseball. The school is adjacent to the sports fields and is home to New Braintree’s QYBL basketball league.
