Located in the Hardwick village of Gilbertville, Hardwick Elementary School is set back from Rt. 32 among working farmland and local wildlife.

Children in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 5 who reside in the villages of Hardwick, Gilbertville, Wheelwright and Old Furnace enjoy a modern, secure facility that includes a cafetorium, gymnasium, media center, computer lab, outside play areas and a quiet reading alcove.  The more than 250 students enjoy the David Huntress Memorial Playground, also located on the school grounds.

Students at Hardwick Elementary School participate in the Quabbin area youth recreation leagues including soccer, basketball, baseball and softball.
