In July, 2010, the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education adopted the Common Core State Standards, and as a result, contributed to the state’s eligibility of Race to the Top funds.
The Quabbin Regional School District follows the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks which are of high quality, results driven, and focus on world class standards to develop specific curriculum.
According to the DESE, each of the curriculum frameworks are considered works in progress as they are continually refined to strengthen them and to keep them current.
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will base the new student assessment program (MCAS) on the frameworks.
Access to the DESE frameworks can be found at: www.doe.mass.edu/frameworks/current.html
