Requests for School Choice for schools in the Quabbin District for the Fall of 2022 are being accepted now. Choice acceptance is based on available seats per grade in each of the schools in the Quabbin district.
Parents should:

Requests will be included on a wait list until the per-grade opportunities are determined. Once Choice students are accepted at a Quabbin school, they remain a Quabbin student until they graduate.

New Braintree Grade School
All elementary schools serve Grades PK-5 except for Oakham and New Braintree. Children from Oakham and New Braintree attend school together. K-1 attend the New Braintree Grade School while grades 2-5 attend the Oakham Center School.
All students in Grades 6, 7 & 8 attend the Quabbin Regional Middle School and students in Grades 9 – 12 attend the Quabbin Regional High School. The middle and high schools are located within the same building on South Street in Barre.
Transportation to and from school is the responsibility of the “Choice family”. However, for a fee, Quabbin offers transportation for middle & high school students from towns that have more than 30 sending students.
Quabbin Regional Middle-High School offers an extensive academic program, including award winning visual and performing arts course of study, a 4-year Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program, a challenging world language program of up to five years of study of French, Spanish, and American Sign Language. The school also provides challenging math, science and technology programs including robotics, web design, and a variety of lab sciences, which includes a state of the art biotechnology laboratory.
Quabbin is proud to offer Advanced Placement courses and was named to the College Board’s Advanced Placement Honor Roll for increasing the AP course offerings, the number of students participating and the improvement of AP exam scores.
Quabbin Regional Middle-High School is also authorized as an International Baccalaureate program. International Baccalaureate or IB aligns with the mission and goals of the school and provides another avenue to facilitate inquiry, critical and creative thinking.
Quabbin Regional Middle and Quabbin Regional High School student-athletes compete in fall, winter and spring competition.
Quabbin Regional Middle-High School also has a variety of co-curricular clubs for a variety of interests, including performing arts, chorus, robotics, student government, Model UN, and an international club for students of the languages and world cultures. The district aims to offer a vast educational experience to its students.
The elementary schools participate in Nature’s Classroom and 8th graders experience a week-long trip to the nation’s capital, Washington DC.
