How is QRSD responding to COVID-19?

  • Our schools are currently closed until May 4th.  If there are any additional decisions to extend this closure, QRSD will promptly notify our entire school community through one-calls, emails, and the usual news outlets. The district will be re-opened in guidance with local, state, and federal authorities.
  • Our facilities team members are in each school meticulously cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces of the buildings to ensure that they are clean and safe for students and staff once school resumes.
  • Our food services crew is working to ensure that children will be able to receive uninterrupted breakfast and lunch during this school closure. They are working from two locations (Hardwick Elementary School and QRMS/QRHS) to create cold Grab & Go options for all students. Click HERE for more information
  • Our technology team is providing technological support for district employees working remotely, vetting software to ensure student privacy, sanitizing electronic equipment, and working with vendors to develop additional capacity.
  • Our educators are collectively developing optional educational activities designed to keep the spirit of learning alive.  Educators will be checking and responding to email regularly. Additionally, they will be engaging in professional learning and curriculum development.
  • Our school administrators and support staff are providing weekly communications with all stake holders to help their school communities during this difficult time. They are assisting in the development of student enrichment activities, making copies of these activities for families without internet access, and assist in developing professional learning opportunities for staff.
  • Our central office team continues to coordinate the district’s response to these evolving events.  They are designing plans that include coordinating services, communication, educational enrichment guidelines, developing professional learning opportunities for all staff.  They are working with local, state, and federal agencies to make available resources from the district.
