The Quabbin Regional Middle/High School Media Center is at the heart of our learning community. Supporting all aspects of education, the Media Center provides a common area for study to all of our learners and continues to maintain a long-standing tradition of working with students and educators to meet the demands of advanced research and developing strong technology-based skills.
The Media Center staff works with teachers to link instructional technologies and research materials to curriculum initiatives. In a collaboration effort with the district’s Information Technology Department, the Media Center staff oversees the educational user of onsite print resources, remote access to databases and other online materials, computer labs, mobile computing, interactive white board technologies and audio-visual equipment.

GALE Biography in Context – Virtually every course of study, from history to science to literature is ultimately tied to the study of people. Biography in Context delivers outstanding research support with nearly a million biographical entries spanning history and geography. It’s a curriculum-aligned resource that offers media-rich content in context that’s updated daily to meet the needs of today’s students.
TED – A nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then it’s scope has become ever broader.
The annual TED conferences, in Long Beach/Palm Springs and Edinburgh, bring together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes or less).
Medline Plus – The National Institutes of Health’s website for patients and their families. Produced by the National Library of Medicine, it brings you information about diseases, conditions and wellness issues in language you can understand. Medline Plus offers reliable, up-to-date health information, anytime, anywhere, for free.
You can use Medline Plus to learn about the latest treatments, look up information on a drug or supplement, find out the meanings of words, or view medical videos or illustrations. You can also get links to the latest medical research on your topic or find out about clinical trials on a disease or condition.
CIA World Factbook – Provides information on the history, people, government, economy, energy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities.
Our Reference tab includes: maps of the major world regions, as well as Flags of the World, a Physical Map of the World, a Political Map of the World, a World Oceans map, and a Standard Time Zones of the World map.
The Quabbin Regional High School Style Manual and Writing Guide serves as a reference for students, faculty, and staff at Quabbin Regional High School.
This style manual and writing guide is an attempt to standardize the presentation of significant writing projects at the Quabbin Regional High School with the belief that consistency, repitition and reinforcement will improve performance by students. The style manual and guide is also intended to aid teachers by providing expectations and direction for format.
